Hi, hope you're fine !

I'm totally busy working on digital drawings from pencil sketches.

Some of them are for an on going project with a speech therapist, I'll show you some peeks soon.

Again... not much time to visit your nice blog spaces

and what's you've been up to !

I'm having a little break by here, while drinking a cup of coffee.

well... too much coffee daily but I can't help it...

I bought some japanese tea and planted some mint,

I will have a try to change my beverage routine.

Few springy moments of these days...

I've been choosing three novels at once in my favorite bookstore.

We had our first evening meals in the backyard

(with many mosquitos friends ! )

...then, our first lemongrass smell

I climbed many times onto cherry trees.

I'm really enjoying simple pleasure of gardening...

feeling eager on each early morning to check out the sprouts

of our freshly planted seeds.

We're eating our own rose and vanilla yogurt

homemade with organic milk.

...and our own whole wheat bread,

trying out recipes with my girl who likes so much to knead dough.

Visit to my friends on a lazy day, having a long walk and perfect meal

on the beach together.

First swim of the season into the sea...

Even my first sunburn made me strangely happy.

The latest week-end shed a beam of light
upon the cloudy mountains.
It seemed as if time had been expanding.
It was at least two years that we hadn't seen our friends.
We drove three hours along countryside to reach
Remi's Bday party
and basked with many others in a candy night at their heavenly place.

Oh, I didn't say it yet
but I could finally relish the Milenka concert in Nice,
few days ago.
Their new album I was yearning for
is even better than the previous one...
Gem musical arrangements
and the incredibly moving Gini's voice.
She was wearing an airy silk dress she made herself
which harmonized ideally with the universe of their songs.
They blown my mind.
I was lucky enough to see them
before they leave the theater
where they were performing.
And I had a surprise.
She brought the sweetest gifts especially for me.
Can you imagine my big *grin*

I had bright moments lately, very shiny...

I could read the book of J-P toussaint I had at my bed side for a while
I was wholly enthralled till I finished it.
Hehe, How fun google research could turn out...
looking for the english title of the novel,
I found a... well how should I say...
rather strange promotionnal video for it !
But don't hesitate it really worth it.

I had many time to draw freely with ink
which really made me feel good.

We made the most incredible soft bread

with kamut and porridge oats from a swedish recipe.

I found on this very inspiring food blog.

I had a twinkling lunch with Gini and Anouki in a tiny bio restaurant in Nice.

And I had fun moment with Regis as we

discovered we've got some intriguing shared memories

from our childhood in the same little town.

Wednesday color reminds me

my father in law and what he told me once

although he's not actually talking so much...
Few years ago, his treasures box he had when he was a child was lost.
He was collecting inside some amber and small bits.
he had found them on the baltic sea in Riga
where he was spending his summers.
these little fossils are like his missing childhood
but are even more present now in his memory.
He knows he won't go back to Riga and they can't be replaced.
... Anyhow they still having
a warming and delicate flush in his mind.

It was remarkably quiet this morning.

All our visitors are gone.

I had a moment sipping my coffee while reading some poems.

And I was happy to savor the latest of my homemade macarons.

I didn't expected such a sucess at baking them. Not easy but it was worth the time spending !

The wind is beating the shutters loud...

I'm longing for a seaside walk to feel the powerful waves.

I went to Nice last week-end, and didn't remember

I should rather avoid this area because of Carnival.

Well, I could actually check out that I don't truly like

the crowd and this fake atmosphere.

It's a real business here, not much fun

and you cannot even just walk free in it !

they put fences and policemen all around !

I hadn't my camera with me but I didn't have any frustration ...

It made me think I had these pictures from last year,

at the same period.

my daughter was walking with her circus company in our little town.

How it felt...

long time ago it seems already !

I had friends and family at home

all these days since I'm back.

It was nice to see them despite of the rainy days all along...

I cooked a lot for huge tables,

I baked some cakes and bread.

We had umbrellas walks, long talks, many good meals,

some good wine, music exchanges...

Some of them are leaving today,

my nephews are still sleeping...

I'm here, lingering into my little trip pictures

There were some great and inspiring books in the flat,

they were sharing our breakfast before finding out our destination.

We had a stroll along "marble drawings" in Sienna.

It was quite incredible.

Fred was wearing matching shoes...

But it was so cold instead of the happy-shiny-sunny afternoon

that he got pretty frozen feet !

luckily there was some delicious cappuccino to warm us up.

Kids prefered to drink fresh lemonade... they probably are living in another dimension !

first Italian impressions

I stayed for few days on a hill in a small town called Colle di val d'Elsa near Sienna.

It was even more delightful than I could have imagined.

We rented a flat in a building from the 17th century.

Searching for some Bauhaus links, I found out the incredible work of gunta Stolzl, each of her design is an enchantment.

How are you ?

I saw so many things in my little Italian trip.

Sienna was the most enchanting town to me...

well, Pisa was not bad either... and the landscapes,were as they, somehow,had escaped old paintings.

I'll show you later how lush and quaint it was.

Before I have some pictures of our adventurous road trip...

I was really deceived to have to leave already. Finally, the way back to Nice was really diverting.

Snow in french Riviera is very unexpected and choked the cars in a pretty mess.

The snowfalls we had on the highway were supernatural on the palm trees...
and under our wheels without tire chains too !

and to discover our white yard
even if it was freezing inside home as well !

During these quiet days after christmas it's good to find some time for sewing and crocheting little things, I don't know, though, if it worth to be shown more than this little peek !

After days of heavy rain, the week-end finally was more shiny and the sky was wearing the most delicate pink in the evening.

The fabulous bird is a picture from last week.

As I was carrying some stuff for my mother moving, I noticed this mosaic in the entrance of a very ordinary building. I was rather bored by the amount of work I still had to achieve... but this gave me some good energy to continue till the end of the day.

I took these pictures on Friday afternoon. I was driving along the sea-side and had to stop the car and walk to the beach because of the mysterious glow I could only guess from the road. I hadn't seen the snow which fell during the night and melt before I went to the sea... but beneath a blanket of dark sky the water occured to have the most intriguing swimming-pool blue tone. I stayed there for a long while till my finger were burned by chill wind. Then, I went back to the ordinary traffic jam with a splendid red nose and a very happy mood all the same.

Today, I spent few hours at my brother's studio. It's very small but filled with many things everywhere. EAch time I feel very curious and look at every corner.

I made the drawing of the girl below for him, he showed me the amazing hat he draw especially for her. I really like that touch, don't you think it suits perfectly ! Maybe the beginning of a collaboration, who knows ?

This is a beautiful exhibition I've seen in

The windows displays were very fun with incredibly great findings.

It's always hard for me to leave this darling town and all its treasures at each corner of the street.

I was lucky to have long walks beneath a friendly sky which made this autumn break very sweet with my friends and beloved ones.

I was away from my blog and yours much more longer than I would have expected...

I missed this special place and I missed you.

I have so much to show, I don't know how to begin.

So here are the latest pictures of nice spots I had on my recent travel.

I have a special thought to "le petit atelier de paris" wich was well placed on my to-do-list, I love their creations so much and my daughter wanted to visit Pompon, their dog, the niciest one ever !

I was hesitating about car or train. I was happy to travel by train, I didn't for ages and I love this extra time left around. Perfect time for daydreams, reading... well, not so much on the way back, I was just captivated by the foggy windows.

ohlala, I haven't been so much on this place... and yours again !!!! Time to say, though, how enchanting was the concert I've seen on last week-end.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the scenery, the background pictures behind the stage... Giny truly has a lovely voice... and the cutest baby ;)

From my november workshops...

Each child made one illustration,

I made one different cover, one unique story for each class and one book per child.

Finally, I brought the pretty piles to the schools... The big smile of the children made my day.

Their ideas and interpretations really amazed me.

Sorry for the bad pictures, the light was awful last week !!!

A bunch of small elements from my "parisian story"

It was cold, really really very cold.

Anyhow, Paris has the strange power to warm up my heart so easily.

I walked everyday through the town, eyes wide open trying to see the most possible in one glance. I love the special mood of the city, and the surprises everywhere.

One place I had on my to-do-list was "Le petit atelier de Paris" It's a wonderful little shop where you can find the most fabulous ceramics which are designed and handmaid in their own workshop there. They are very sweet and Ponpon the dog is the loviest I've ever seen. It was terrible to make a choice, I just wanted everything... I'll show you later what I've chosen to bring with me... and some of the billions pictures I made during the vacations :)

From another walk ...The amazing sculpture of the couple was truly fantastic. It reminds me of the Camilla Engmann's world. It was raised in the courtyard of... the Hunting Museum. The subject didn't seem so attractive but we have been told later that it's worth being visited, maybe one next time...

The ginkgoes at the corner of the street were sumptuous even if they were hiding a bit the Combas' mural painting.

Now I'm back and I miss my friends already...

But The week-end was filled with happy time... The mesmerizing Alela Diane in concert, the nice surprise to recognize Gini there and the pleasure to meet her with regis before the concert, I'm looking forward seeing them soon.

The sun then, which was missing us after too much rain...

a New week and some new projects... Workshops with many children, I will make them doing their own book.

Then, on saturday I'll be participating at the book fair of st-laurent du var for my book "aux menus plaisirs" (éditions du Rouergue)

on every wednesday children are at home

their homework finished, we have good time together...

It's amazing to see how endless is their imaginary world and how they feel totally free to create without any fear of failing. Though it's gently changing as they're growing older, my son is 12 and he is sometimes fighting against some representation's archetype.

Well I know this feeling too...

Anyhow, this shared sweet time is a pretty and inspiring thrill.

I'm still experimenting some needle works and I like to mix it with photo. This is a quick peek.

Autumn colors catching up my eye everywhere I go.

Strange peppers from the small market and some spicy-yummy-apples.

It's still too hot here... but I won't complain

11 details... little things to tell about

1. for clothes, lately, my favorite shop is comptoir des cotonniers but I can't afford as much as I'd like to... kookai is fine too

2. I found some of my furnitures on the sidewalk, then painted them, which is the best thing, I love when old things are getting a new life... I like flea markets too or sometimes Ikea as everyone does but I don't have one close to my new home !

3. Sweet... Homemade chocolate truffles.

4. the first city which comes to my mind is Prague, I lived there for few years and It's in my heart with my friends out there. Then, of course Paris... But I left it one year ago to live at seaside at south of France, near Nice. It's a wonderful place.

5. our latest summer beverage was grapefruit sirup with rose wine, but I like rather red wine.

6. I can't stop listening at Cocorosie. then Rio el medio, Electrelane, The Organ always make me happy among so many others, I love to listen music as I work.

7. My all times favorite tv series is Twin Peaks.

8. Some movies I liked a lot... Time of the gypsies from Emir kusturica, Lost in translation, Hiroshima mon amour, Mulholland drive... and much others more...

9. workout. walking with beloved people... and with my camera.

10. pastries I like the best are homemade cakes.

11. and I'm ending this by coffee. I drink it all the day long, too much, and each week I say I will change this bad habit but I can't stop.

I painted a little gift on wood and matched some words to the picture, I like to look at it in the morning to decide if it should stay like that or needs some changes.

I had a perfect moment looking at an idyllic sky in my coffee pot... my morning beverage tasted even better.

the neighbor gave me some pretty plants he brought from the mountain, it smells good, it looks beautiful and I can even use it for cooking experiment... I have to try it !

In my mailbox, I found the wonderful calendar made by Camilla Engman.

I ordered it just few days ago and was happily surprised to receive it yet...

We had a busy and joyful time for Katia 9th birthday.

Lots of fun preparing some pretty cakes, drawing together, listening to music. Our trumpet-teacher-neighbor surprised us, she came home to play some music and let the girls try to blow... ahhhah

Before she went to bed, she said it was her best day ever, mine was very happy and cheerful too.

Be fine and have many pleasures today, everyone.

Here I am again...

Last week, I spent very short time at the computer.

I was really busy, drawing, painting, printing, sewing, making lots of photos...

I'll show you everything later.

I just wanted a quick stop here to post a little something.

( My daily blogging resolution already failed ! )

But, to be true, I feel a bit overwhelmed and I simply hesitate about what to show in my little space. well, no more confused ideas... I'll just post few pictures which make me smile today...

let's walk through home with my old camera and try some ttv pictures.

I still have to practice I guess, but I liked the mood of this series...

After a whole summer

Rambling mindlessly, wandering for small details along the streets,

Stopping by for coffee in cool places,

Searching for magic tips through inspiring and various artists...

(For example, I discovered Chagall as if it was the first time I were seeing his work although I wasn't really fond of his paintings...)

Doubting and doubting again about my eventual skill...

Each time I begin a new drawing I feel I could waste it totally and so easily.

Then at one point I feel I shouldn't add anything even if I'm still uncertain about the result.

It's such a fragile balance, that's what's makes it so exciting... As if, each time, it was my first time.

season's end postcard from Nice

After one first week back to work, trying on new prints... I will add some new things on my "temporary asleep" etsy shop.

The week-end arrived and it's gone so fast.

It's always hard to me to leave my work space but I did have such a pleasant time with my family...

I moved here from Paris to south for one year, already, and I'm still amazed by the air sweetness of my birth town. I love to peek at the lively windows and observing the moving light on the decayed colorful walls is an endless treat.

I'm enjoying september weekends better because the sun is still hot but cooler and the streets are less crowded now.

Though there happened one terrible moment on this sunday...

I had to choose among an incredible amount of ice cream flavors, can you imagine the many temptations ?

Luckily I could taste my husband and children's ones

I tried myself the red pepper/vanilla, rather interesting experiment... nice rosy crunchy touch... I ate pepper for all the day long and I'm still tasting it now as I'm writing this !

ahhh!

September brings with him new smells, rhythm and mood.

Birds are feeling it before we do, it was amazing how they were everywhere just before the rain.

It's time again for quick back-from-school-snacks before savoring playful moments.

We were lucky enough to receive some simple delights given by a kind gardener... Yay for the figs and... a delicious lemon tart.

I had a colorful and surprising visitor while I was closing the shutters, he stayed here for the whole night.

And then, a very naughty smoke cloud I've seen from my window which was disturbing its closer neighborhood and the birds too.

Oh, It's friday... already !
